Services in Pakistan

Bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial reporting and fractional CFO services for businesses in Pakistan, delivered under the supervision of a chartered accountant.

Pi in Pakistan

Pi is an accounting and advisory firm. For businesses in Pakistan we keep the books, file returns with FBR, the provincial revenue authorities and SECP, prepare annual financial statements and act as fractional CFO, for anything from a founder-led startup to a multi-entity group. Our Pakistan office is at 45-B, 3rd Floor, PCSIR Phase 2, Main Service Lane, Lahore 54000, Punjab, Pakistan.

Every engagement is supervised by a partner who is a chartered accountant, and every figure we report is reconciled and documented to a standard that stands up to auditors, regulators, lenders and investors. For businesses in the United States, see our services.

Who we work with

Businesses in Pakistan at every stage, and the owners and directors behind them.

  • Founder-led startups, professional practices and single-owner businesses
  • Trading, services and e-commerce businesses with staff
  • Groups, manufacturers, funded companies and subsidiaries of foreign groups
  • Dormant and pre-revenue companies that still need statutory books, nil returns and annual filings
  • Associations of persons, sole proprietors, and directors and individuals with a wealth statement to file
  • Founders and investors, local or foreign, setting up a company in Pakistan

How we work

Five principles hold for every client, from a single return to a group's monthly close.

  • One partner, your affairs

You deal with a named partner and a dedicated accountant, not a rotating team. The people who prepare your numbers are the people who answer your questions about them.

  • Scope agreed in writing

You receive a written scope and proposal before any work begins, setting out what will be done, by whom and by when.

  • Discretion by default

Every engagement is covered by a written confidentiality agreement. Documents move through an encrypted client portal rather than email, and only the partner and team assigned to you can open your files. See security and confidentiality.

  • Professional standards

We work under a professional code of ethics, carry professional indemnity cover, and verify the identity of every client and its beneficial owners before work begins, as anti-money-laundering regulations require.

  • Built for Pakistan's regulators

Compliance with FBR, the provincial revenue authorities (PRA, SRB, KPRA and BRA) and SECP is part of the service, not an afterthought. Filings are planned into the monthly cycle instead of being left until a deadline is close.

What we look at when scoping an engagement

Two businesses of the same size can need very different amounts of work. These are the factors that decide the scope we propose.

What we look at when scoping an engagement, and why it matters
What we look atWhy it matters
Transaction volume: bank, card, sales and purchase entries each monthDetermines the posting and reconciliation effort.
Number of entities, bank accounts and sales tax registrationsEach one adds a ledger, a reconciliation and a return.
Payroll headcount and benefit schemes (EOBI, PESSI, provident fund)Each brings monthly computation, filings and payslips.
Reporting frequency and depth: a monthly close or a board-ready packSets the senior time and written commentary each month requires.
State of the records at handoverBacklogs and unreconciled balances are cleared in a one-off clean-up before the monthly service begins.
Software and integrations: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, Odoo, FBR e-invoicingGood setup and automation reduce the ongoing workload.

Once you sign the engagement letter, onboarding begins the same week.
