Privacy notice

How Pi collects, uses and protects the personal information you share through this website. Last updated: 15 October 2026.

Who we are

Pi is an accounting and advisory firm with two offices: 310 Newkirk Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306, United States, and 45-B, 3rd Floor, PCSIR Phase 2, Main Service Lane, Lahore 54000, Punjab, Pakistan. References in this notice to "we", "us" and "our" are to Pi. We decide how the personal information described here is used, which makes us responsible for it.

This notice covers the information you give us through this website, including the enquiry form, and the information you give us when you email or telephone us about a possible engagement. If you become a client, your engagement letter and the written confidentiality agreement that covers every engagement also apply to the information you share with us.

Our contact for privacy questions, including requests about your own information, is [email protected].

Information we collect

Through the enquiry form

The enquiry form asks for:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number, if you choose to give it
  • how you are enquiring, for example as a business, an accounting firm or an individual
  • the service you are interested in
  • your message

When you submit the form, your details are either sent to a form-handling service that passes them to us, or your own email program opens with the enquiry addressed to us, ready for you to send. In the second case, the message travels through your own email provider, as any email you send does.

If you email or telephone us

We handle the information you give us by email or telephone, including your contact details, in the same way as an enquiry sent through the form.

Cookies and fonts

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Its fonts are served from our own server rather than from a third-party font service, so viewing a page does not pass your details to such a service.

Technical information

As with any website, your browser sends some technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to the server that hosts this site so that pages can be delivered to you. Our hosting provider may record this information in its server logs.

How we use your information

We use the information you send us to:

  • reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, arrange a conversation with a partner
  • take the steps you ask for before any engagement, such as reviewing your records and preparing a written proposal
  • keep a record of our correspondence with you

If you decide to engage us, we will ask for further information at that point, including the documents we need to verify your identity, and we will explain how that information is used when we ask for it.

Legal bases for visitors in the United Kingdom or European Union

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the legal bases on which we rely to use your information are:

  • our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries about our services and in running our practice
  • taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, such as preparing a proposal

Who sees your information

Your enquiry is read by the partner and team who handle it. Others who may process your information on our behalf are:

  • the providers of the email and form-handling services we use
  • the company that hosts this website, which may hold the technical information described above

We may also have to disclose information to a regulator, a court or another authority where the law or our professional rules require it.

International transfers

Pi has offices in the United States and Pakistan, and your enquiry may be handled by our team in Pakistan. Where it is, your information will be transferred to Pakistan, and our service providers may also process it in other countries. The data protection laws of those countries may differ from those where you live. Wherever your information is held, we handle it as this notice describes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this notice. If an enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we delete the information once we no longer need it to deal with the enquiry or as a record of our correspondence.

If you become a client, your enquiry becomes part of your client file, which we keep for as long as our professional and legal obligations require.

How we protect it

Access to enquiries is limited to the partner and team handling them. Once an engagement begins, documents pass through our encrypted client portal instead of email, under the written confidentiality agreement that applies to every engagement. Our security and confidentiality page describes these arrangements.

No way of sending information over the internet is completely secure, and email is not designed for confidential material. Please do not include bank details, identity documents or tax records in an enquiry. If we need them, we will ask you to send them through the client portal.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • object to our use of your information, including where we rely on our legitimate interests

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and if a legal or professional obligation prevents us from doing what you ask, we will tell you.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us, so that we can try to put it right. You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.

Changes and contact

We may update this notice, for example if the way the website works changes. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.

Questions about this notice or about your information can be sent to [email protected], or raised by telephone on +1 415 939 6721.
